Meet the Founder — Jake Vavala
Jake Vavala grew up in New York with a love for the water. After studying at the University of Arizona, he began his career in Chicago as an equity trader at Morgan Stanley before launching his first detailing business there. What started as a way to keep his own boat looking sharp grew into a service trusted by Chicago boat owners for reliability and detail-obsessed care.
When Jake relocated to San Diego, he expanded HarborSide to serve the Southern California coast — bringing the same attention to detail, professionalism, and personal touch that built his reputation in Chicago. Today, HarborSide Yacht Services operates in both cities, with the same standards, the same care, and the same goal: making yacht ownership effortless for every client.
